Marichal Wines in the media blogs around the world.
In the first few months of this year, some of our wines were tasted and commented on by bloggers from various areas of America. Our Sauvignon Blanc was selected by the excentric and innovative Demeko & Bayne, from the tastings internet channel Booze Revooze in the United States. In an interesting tasting recorded and broadcasted on Youtube, some relevant comments by the hosts were: ‘I had no idea Uruguay was producing wines, though it makes sense for its proximity to Chile and Argentina (...) I’m gonna be excited to try and find some more out of that region’; ‘We’re actually pouring a lot of different flavours out of this wine, which just shows how good quality it is; and very well made!’

Our first steps into Asia: Vinexpo Asia-Pacific.

Bodega Marichal will take its wines to Hong Kong on May 29, 30 and 31 to be part of the Vinexpo Asia-Pacific 2012, the biggest wine and spirits exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. There, we will present our products along with 1,000 exhibitors and producers from all over the world and we will offer our wines to the more than 14,000 professional visitors expected from all around the region.
It is an excellent opportunity as the Asian wine and spirits market is especially vigorous, and Hong Kong attempts to become the main nerve of the regional wine imports.
In 2012, Vinexpo Asia-Pacific will fill all Level 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where 10,000 m2 will be reserved for exhibitors. In addition to this, major tastings will be organized in an exceptional location in Level 3 (Grand Foyer). Bodega Marichal will be there.

Adventure in the river of the painted birds - Hungary
Borravaló is the name of an hungarian blog on wines. On May 13 under the title "Adventures in the river of the painted birds", Stevie Kraft published a long article with plenty of information on Uruguay, its history, its people, its soccer and its wines. It also speaks at length about the products from Marichal and Familia Deicas wineries, illustrating the text with good photographs. Besides, this blog is linked with a tourism website in Hungary, called Trip-Tipp (www.triptipp.hu). We hope that its readers come to this end of the world to know Uruguay. Meanwhile, maybe they can drink some of the tannat wines acquired by the European importers thanks to the efforts carried out by Wines of Uruguay with its stand in the London Wine Fair 2009.
